Jason Rudd, nephew of NASCAR Nextel Cup Series veteran Ricky Rudd, is seeking his uncle’s advice in preparation for his debut in the Florida Dodge Dealers 250 at Daytona International Speedway on February 18.
“It's going to be great to compete at Daytona in the Craftsman Truck Series Dodge Dealers 250. The truck series has evolved over the past 10 years to be a highly competitive series,” Rudd said. “It’s also great to have Ricky here for the Daytona 500. His experience at this track is a huge advantage, and you can bet I will spend as much time as possible picking his brain for any pointers.”
Rudd is making his first start in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in the seat of the No. 31 Dodge owned by series veterans Bob and Shelly Brevak of Brevak Racing, in partnership with RepairOne® Racing. In eight career ARCA/RE/MAX Series starts since 2002, Rudd has three top-10 finishes, including a career-best third at Kentucky Speedway in 2002. He also finished eighth at Nashville Super speedway and ninth at Pocono Raceway in 2002. For more on Rudd’s racing career, visit www.brevakracing.com
Rudd will sign autographs Tuesday, February 15 at Halifax Memorial Hospital and at the Volusia Mall on Thursday, February 17.
